“The Shifting Cave” CTIN 484
We based “The Shifting Cave” on the concept we liked the most about “Up the River,” which was the continuous movement of the board. We initially knew we wanted to make our game more complicated than “Up the River,” and we especially wanted to add more of an element of strategy. We also wanted to add more suspense and initiative to get out of the cave. In addition, we wanted to add more player interaction.

"Solar Survivors"
We started developing our board game with 3 specific attributes: everyone vs. the system, tile or construction based, and fog of war. We decided to go with a space theme, with strong inspirations from the video game, FTL: Faster Than Light. We borrowed the idea of running away from a boss and exploring the universe to get stronger until the player was strong enough to confront the boss. Another idea we wanted to expand upon, was the increasing power of the boss and discovering information about the boss’s abilities through exploring the map. This adds a strategic element to the game, forcing players to decide on whether to try fighting the boss early or avoiding him to gather information and power.

Emotion Project CTIN 484
I decide to make a board game, which is based using emotion. The game that I been thinking about that I had it inside my head is a horror game, where I want using the aesthetic format for the player to have the experience to feel fear and scare. Also by inputing a narrative to the game.
